Overview

Private DNS is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension does NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information or browsing data.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ Browsing history
• ❌ Personal information (name, email, address)
• ❌ Location data
• ❌ Financial information
• ❌ Passwords or credentials
• ❌ Website content you visit
• ❌ Keystroke or mouse tracking

Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)

The following data is stored in your browser and never transmitted to any server:

• ✅ Your selected theme preference
• ✅ Feature toggle states (ad-blocking, fast mode, etc.)
• ✅ Premium license key (if purchased)
• ✅ Extension statistics (query counts, cache hits)

Demo Usage Tracking

To enforce our one-time demo policy, we generate an anonymous device fingerprint (cryptographic hash) based on your browser properties. This fingerprint:

• ✅ Cannot identify you personally
• ✅ Does not contain any personal information
• ✅ Is only used to prevent demo abuse
• ✅ Is stored on our server only as a hash value

DNS Query Processing

DNS queries are sent to your configured DNS server (yogvidwankhede.duckdns.org or your custom server):

• ✅ All queries use HTTPS encryption (DNS-over-HTTPS)
• ✅ We do not log individual DNS queries
• ✅ Only aggregate statistics (total query count) are stored
• ✅ No correlation between queries and users

Third-Party Services

PayPal: Payment processing is handled by PayPal. When you purchase Premium, you are subject to PayPal's privacy policy. We receive only your email address and transaction ID to deliver your license key.

DNS Server: Your DNS queries are processed by the configured DNS server. Our DNS server does not log individual queries or maintain user profiles.

Premium License Keys

If you purchase Premium:

• Your email address is used only to send your license key
• License keys are validated with our server when entered
• We store: license key, purchase plan, activation date
• We do NOT track which features you use or how you use them

Data Security

• 🔒 All server communication uses HTTPS encryption
• 🔒 No sensitive data is stored unencrypted
• 🔒 Your browsing data never leaves your device
• 🔒 We follow industry-standard security practices

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of your license key data
• Request information about stored data
• Uninstall the extension at any time

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please use this extension with parental supervision.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of any changes. Material changes will be highlighted in extension updates.
